All Saints Church
Ashdon is a village on the Essex/Cambridgeshire border four miles north-east of the town of Saffron Walden, and All Saints Church has been serving the village community for more than 600 years (please see our history page).
All the family are most welcome at any of our services, which are shown here. Our services are on the second and fourth Sundays with services at 9.00 am, followed by refreshments in the Church Rooms. On the first and third Sundays, there is a service at St Botolphs in the neighbouring village of Hadstock, also at 9.00am. We serve refreshments in the Church Rooms AFTER services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, with a shared breakfast from 8.00am BEFORE our service on the fourth Sunday – all are welcome.
We are delighted to announce that our House for Duty Vicar for Ashdon and Hadstock has been appointed - see full announcement here
The other good news is that the gate to the church from Church Lane has been replaced and looks very beautiful. With thanks to a generous benefactor and also the Friends of All Saints for their help with this.
Christmas was a magical time at All Saints with our church beautifully decorated to celebrate our Lord's birth. Our Carol Service and Christingle Services by candle light were both well attended. Touches of Christmas remain as we move through Epiphany into Candlemas.
The building is open daily for private prayer or reflexion and as a place of sanctuary, continuing to be available for the community as it has been for so many years.
We are part of the Saffron Walden Ministry team, a group of 12 local churches. For those unable to come to church for whatever reason, a variety of services available online from different churches. See our Links page for the website for St Marys Saffron Walden.
A newly revised London to Walsingham pilgrimage route passes through Ashdon and All Saints. For more information please click here.
Our Churchwardens Barbara & Mat or any member of the team clergy (see website for St. Mary’s Saffron Walden) will be happy to answer any queries you may have. We have a weekly email mailing to which we are happy to add your name if you would like to keep in touch with us. Just ask to be added to the mailing list (see contacts).
